I don't know about you but I've not heard much noise in the beauty world about Edward Bess make up - (possibly as it's only just been released in the UK?). So when I stumbled across some rather pretty items on the Net - a Porter website I couldn't resist a little haul.
Edward Bess, a former model (with the most amazing mane of hair - seriously google him) started modelling from a young age, but soon turned to what he loved best and started a make up line, based around the ethic of 'paired down beauty'. Starting off with just a lipstick wardrobe - (which was a huge success) his brand quickly expanded into all cosmetics and now skincare. I'm definitely becoming a fan and cant wait to try some more items.
At a quite high price range I just picked a few items that caught my eye, I'm super pleased with my purchases and can't wait to pick a few more... but for now here's what I got.....
Threads Of Silk Multi Use Powder - Bellissima
This beautiful patchwork powder is so wonderful to use. Infused with real silk, this beautifully embossed powder is encased in a patch work thread design of three colours. A gorgeous combination of champagne, pink and ivory, this multi use powder is so versatile and really easy to wear. (bronzer, eye shadow, highlighter the choice is yours - I've been loving it as an all over glow). The warm, medium toned powder would suit most skin tones and gives a lovely satiny luminous finish. The formula is somewhat tight if that makes sense and you need quite a dense brush, so it requires quite a bit of brush swirling to pick up any colour to begin with. Its lightly pigmented (as you can probably tell by my delicate swatches. With constant use the powder loosens a little but on the plus side there is hardly any fall out. Also worth mentioning is its generous size, this compact will last forever.
All Over Seduction - Afterglow
Next up I picked up a creamy highlighter - because, well you know, a girl can never have too many highlighters! This compact was a lot smaller than I imagined but the product itself is perfectly pretty. Afterglow is a gorgeous ombre, peachy tone and looks beautiful on the cheekbones, brown bones and the cupids bow. Its sheer formula is really delicate and easy to blend (I've just been using my fingers). It works really well as a highlighter but as its so sheer its not really one for contouring. Even though its small it's a wonderful little pocket - sized compact that would be great for travel or easy to pop in your bag for a night out. Great stuff.
Ultra Slick Lipstick in Demi Buff
Moving onto the lip products.... This has to be one of my favourite new lipstick finds in a while. The Ultra Slick Lipstick is really nourishing and hydrating and has a long lasting colour and creamy finish. I've been wearing this on an off for the last couple of weeks and I love it. Demi Buff is a neutral pink with slight browny tone. The formula is really creamy - not drying at all. One coat gives a full colour coverage which lasts me around 5 hours, with only the need to top up after eating and drinking. Pretty much everything you could want in a lipstick which is a good job really with a price tag of £30.
Defining Lip Liner in Barely
This lip liner is a light nude pink that blends really well with the Ultra Slick Lipstick and wears really well with a number of other pinky/nude lipsticks I own. Its a really versatile colour and I love that its in a retractable case. (I for one hate sharpening cosmetic pencils). The formula is silky soft and non drying, it glides on easily and really helps emphasise your natural lips, making them appear fuller and plumper. Also a total bonus - the defining lip liner comes with a free refill which is a full sized lip pencil so you basically get two for the price of one!
Overall I'm really pleased with my mini EB haul and if your curious to try the brand then I'd whole heartedly recommend starting with the lipsticks.
Have you tried any Edward Bess make up? I'd love to know your thoughts.
Thanks for reading and here's wishing you a really great week ahead.
Much Love L xx
