Well, basically in 2017 I need to get my shit together. Apologies for being super quiet on the blog for the last month, my life has been ridiculously busy which has left zero time for blogging. But now we've finally reached the new year, I'm back more motivated then ever to bring you some interesting posts for 2017.
In short I've moved house! As you can imagine its been quite stressful moving three weeks before Christmas. But we did it, were in and so excited to start renovating and decorating. It's a 1930's house with big garden and partial sea views, it's in serious need of updating and restoring. I've been busy scanning interior magazines and Pintrest for ideas and I can't wait to get started. So there might be a few interior posts later this year. Moving and planning for our first family Christmas in our new home has pretty much taken all my time so I'm also really looking forward to getting back into blogging catching up with friends and squeezing in some trips away this year, First stop Paris... Well it is my birthday today so what better way to celebrate than book a trip to my favourite city.
Time Planning - If I'm organised and plan my time efficentely my life runs so much more smoothly. I'm going to try and focus on staying up to date with The Beaux Diaries with two posts a week, by scheduling in some blogging time and using a planner to keep on top of 'to do' lists. I'm thinking of treating myself to The Happiness Planner, has anyone got one? I'd love to hear you thoughts on this planner or some recommendations for a new diary?
Not Putting to much Pressure On Myself - This is something I struggle with. I'm quite hard on myself and have high expecatations so If I miss posting regualy I beat myself up (not literally) but I do worry or stress about it. This year I want a stress free life (if that's possible). Life is too short to worry about every little detail and I need to start being more laid back. I read a book last year - The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving a F*ck and it's quite a liberating read. I've been taking a few tips from this and so far I feel a little more chilled. I'd recommend it for the worry warts amongst us (I can review it on here if you fancy?).
Finishing What I've Started - I'm quite good, no wait make that excellent and starting things and not finishing them. Here on the blog I have at least 15 drafts of blog posts I've started but not yet taken photos for, I also have camera roll of unedited photos. and about 20 half completed to do lists. So I really need to start finishing things up. There's no better feeling when you complete a little task so this year I'm all for finishing what I've started. This goes for products too, I mean you should see my bathroom cabinet - I'm going to set a challenge to finish 10 products so I can do an empties post at the end of the month. (that's if it makes it out of my drafts).
Be More Active On Social Media And Grow My Following - This is one goal I always set myself and this year I'm determined to stick to it. I go through stages of being really active and then really quiet. Its all or nothing. So with the help of scheduling and joining in some twitter chats (are these still a thing?) I'm going to network more. I love connecting and find it really rewarding when you build a relationship with like minded people. I always worry when promoting posts that I'm annoying people but its time to grow some confidence and get promoting (not spamming) and hopefully grow my following.
So just a few goals for me to start the year as well as the norm of healthy eating, starting some exercise and staying positive I'm hoping I'll stick to these ones.
What's your goals for 2017? Are you planning blog goals, life goals or both? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Just to finish I'd like to wish you all a very happy 2017 and thank you all for the love and support you have shown my blog in 2016 it really does mean the world that you take the time out of your busy lives to read The Beaux Diaries - Here's to another beautiful year.
Much Love L xxx
