With Christmas just around the corner I think we can safely say that Winter is upon us. Plus it's bloody freezing out there. The biggest challenge in winter is to keep our skin hydrated and prevent it from drying out. As our tans have long faded, skin can start to look dull and lack luster. So it's time to switch up our skin products and really give our skin some deep hydration and nourishment.
I have a few firm favourites when it comes to winter beauty saviours, some new, some I've loved for years. So if you're struggling to boost that glow or in need of some intense hydration I've got 5 for you to try.
The Moisturiser
Keihls Ultra Face Moisturiser
If it's good enough for the first Greenland explorers - (it was worn by the heroic six that completed the first decent in 2005) it's good enough for us too. Kiehls Ultra Face Moisturiser is super hydrating and has a lightweight, non greasy texture that sits well under make up. This simple yet effective cream really keeps my skin smooth and nourished and helps combat dry skin, which I suffer with in winter. A little goes a long way and I can easily make a tub last me around six months (So fabulous value for money too). It contains Antarcticine which is fabulous for protection against dryness, Imperata Cylindrica for hydration, and Squlane to keep your skin soft and supple. A total winter skincare must have.
The Lip Balm
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Repair Balm
Everyone suffers from dry lips in the winter, if it's not from the cold then its from all those matt lipsticks we've been wearing. I love to smoother my lips in this rich intensive lip balm by Elizabeth Arden. After just one application my lips are back to looking there best and feel plump and hydrated. The Eight Hour Lip Repair tingles slightly on application and the highly moisturising formula is the only one I turn to during winter to keep my lips conditioned with a pretty natural looking sheen.
The Mask
Liz Earle SuperSkin Overnight Mask
The newest to my skincare family this AMAZING night time mask is absolutely wonderful. With one use my skin was plump, radiant and glowing. This mask is designed to work as we sleep and is recommended to be used a couple of times a week. I haven't been this excited about a product in ages and almost dedicated a whole post to this miracle in a tub. But for now I'll keep it short and sweet and just say you NEED this in your life. For someone who doesn't get much sleep lately it's like my beauty sleep in a jar. Packed with wonderful ingredients including Persian Silk which fights the signs of fatigue and Pomegranate Flower extract to help boost collagen this night time mask is a absolute must have for dull winter skin.
The Hand Cream
Aesop Aromatic Hand Balm
I brought this last winter and it's been taking care of my hands ever since. I always keep one in my bag and re-apply regularly throughout the day. The rich balm is so nourishing it will soothe even the most driest of hands. Infused with many oils; including macadamia nut, coconut, cedarwood grapefruit, rosemary, lavender and shea butter, this hand balm not only smells divine but leaves my hands so soft, moisturised and younger looking. Trust me once you try this one your'll be addicted, its the most luxurious treat for your hands.
The Hair Treatment
Sachajuan Hair Repair
This gorgeous hair treatment boosts shine, condition and fullness. Our hair can suffer at this time of year too and I like to treat mine to a weekly mask to help keep it in good condition and protected from the cold. Hair can get frizzy thanks to the wind, rain and then frazzled in the central heating. So a weekly mask like Sachajuan Hair repair will boost vitality, manageability and help repair damage. Infused with Ocean Silk technology, vital minerals and vitamins Sachjuan hair repair will have your hair looking healthy again in no time (well 5 to 10 minutes anyway). Definitely one of my faves.
So if your skin and hair if feeling a little under the weather then these winter saviours may just be able to help.
What's your go to product in winter? Have you tried any of the above products?
