Ahh Guys, my blog posts have been so few and far between lately. I've literally been so busy I haven't found the time to sit down and write a post. So I thought I share with you what I'm loving most these past couple of weeks: this amazing Palette by Tarte
The Showstopper palette is absolutely beautiful, it's not the newest make up release out there but its taken a while for me to get my hands on this one after lusting after it for what feels like years! Tarte is quite hard to get hold of as it's not stocked in the UK but I pixked this up on ebay for £17 including shipping. (normal retail price is around £30).
The gold circular palette includes a bronzer, highlighter, blusher and 6 gorgeous eye shadows. It's quite large so not really one to slip in your bag for everyday use but would be perfect for holiday or a weekend away as it homes a great collection of powders to complete your look. It has a large mirror on the inside - perfect for close up applications. When closed the palette is covered with purple faux snakeskin which sounds like it should be hideous but actually accompanied with the gold casing it's a beaut!
Anyway - the colours.....
Starting with the centre: Fame Amazonian Clay Blush. A warm, peachy pink powder blush that has a serious pigment and gives your cheeks a real flush of colour. It has fabulous staying power and a little goes a long way. The blusher is embossed with a gorgeous Tarte design and is a full size, unlike most palettes where you get a smaller version. Great start...
Next the bronzer - Amazonian Clay matt bronzer in: Park Avenue Princess. This waterproof bronzer has a really soft blendable formula that wears well and is perfect for a light contour. I've used this all over, and it gives a warm glow but I have to admit I prefer Nars Laguna Bronzer. But the tarte bronzer makes a perfect contour.
The Highlighter. Amazonian Clay Highighter in Champagne Pink. I have to admit I thought this was a little wishy washy when I first set eyes on it, but after swatching I fell in love. It has such a great pigment and is a really vibrant pinky shimmer without glitter. It creates a really pretty highlight on the cheeks and I've also been using on my cupids bow and eyebrow arch. It catches the light really well - a total winner.
The Eyeshadows Six gorgeous shades. I love every single one, (which is unusual is a palette as I normally just pick about three faves and the rest go untouched). The soft formulas are really easy to blend and the mineral pigments give a really good colour on each shade. From left to right:
Showshopper Coppper - A warm copper with satin finish, great worn alone or blended for a smokey finish. (My fave of the bunch).
Go For The Gold. A light champagne/gold shade which looks beautiful worn alone on the lid with just a flick of black liner. A fab colour for the inner corners of your eyes. Go For Gold blends well with all the shades.
Your natural. A champagne nude which makes a great base colour for your smokey eye or equally lovely worn alone (as above).
Steel The Scene. A light liliac/pink with a cool undertone and satin finish.
Rose To The Top. A stunning rose pink shade with metalic finish. I love blending this with Go For Gold and Dim the Lights for a more dramatic eye.
Dim The Lights. A deep brown/black shade that has a matt finish and looks fab in the outer corners of your eyes. I love this one for a strong evening look and could even be worn as an eyeliner.
So I'm totally smitten. A fabulous palette that has pride of place in my make up collection. Another plus point is how environmentally friendly and cruelty free the brand is. You won't find any harsh chemicals here, just healthy eco - chic products packed with skin - invigorating ingredients. I only wish Tarte wasn't so hard to get hold of. For UK readers try QVC or Ebay!
What do you think? Have you guys tried Tarte cosmetics before? I'd love some recommendations!
Thanks for stopping by
