Evening guys! I've been a bit AWOL on the blog lately and haven't posted in a while. I've had a busy couple of weeks with work, family, social engagements and house viewings (we're looking to move) and that hasn't left much time for blogging.
So thought I'd do a little chatty post to catch up.......
July is always a sad month for me as it's the anniversary of my mum passing away, which is always so painful but spending time with family makes it a little easier. Last weekend we all spent the day at my beach hut in Broadstairs picnicking and playing cricket and of course some special moments remembering my mum. Sadly the sun didn't make an appearance but we drank tea, cooked bacon rolls and played cricket till the tide came in. It turned out to be a really special day.
I've done rather a lot of shopping lately and my poor bank balance has been hit pretty hard. When I'm sad I shop, and not just for beauty products. I've needed to update my wardrobe with a few summer pieces and at the moment I love anything nude /pastel. Bardot tops, skinny jeans and gladiator sandals seem to be my current uniform. I picked up some gorgeous Isabella Marrent sandals in the Net-a-Porter sale and can't wait to wear them all summer. The Tanya Bakes cookbook is now gracing my kitchen shelves and although I'm no star baker I'm really excited to try some recipes. I've bookmarked the Chocolate Honeycomb Caramel Cupcakes to start with. (Wish me luck)!
As for beauty I've been updating my skincare as my skin has been awful lately and I'm loving Caudalie Vinosource range. Look out for my morning beauty edit coming up next on The Beaux Diaries They may also be a Sephora haul coming to the blog soon as I did a rather late night haul last week with lots of treats in my basket! But the one product I absolutely adore is the This Works Perfect Skin Miracle. Its AMAZING. It perks up my tired complexion, minimises pores and gives a lovely healthy, bronzed glow. I've been using this underneath my foundation and I'm really loving the results. If you buy one thing this month then make it this little gem. Its seriously good.
I'm trying to get into some more healthy eating habits (I eat way to much chocolate). I'm loving Tea Pigs green tea and seriously can't get enough of mashed avocado on wholemeal crackerbread. Throw in some black pepper and cherry tomatoes and I'm there. Seriously I've eaten this for lunch everyday for the last 2 weeks! I'm such a creature of habit!
Brunching in London
Yesterday I was in London and had brunch in the Chiltern Firehouse. A beautifully converted fire station in the heart of Marleybone, somewhere I've wanted to go for a while. It didn't disappoint! The decor is so glamorous yet relaxed and the food was divine. We were sat outside in the courtyard and the sunny weather couldn't have been more perfect. I took tons of photos and will have a blog post up this week all about it.
Becoming a DJ
One of my closest friends is getting married in September and I literally cannot wait. She sent me this cute card last week asking me to guest DJ for a 15 minute slot in the evening. Which is such a great idea and a really fun way to get everyone involved in the wedding; whilst playing some great music. I'm taking this very seriously and already planning my 'set list' haha! Suggestions are needed so please leave me your favourite song that will get you on the dance floor in the comments below. I'm thinking of starting with MC Hammer.....
So that's me for now, what have you guys been loving lately?
Thanks for stopping by
Much Love L xxx
