I'm having such a love/ hate relationship with skincare at the moment. So I think it's time for a switch up. My skin tends to change with the seasons, in summer I'm all dehydrated from the hot weather and sun abuse. And right now, I'm currently sporting some fetching open pores not to mention a few blemishes and spots. In light of my skins odd behaviour, I've recently brought a few new products and been re-loving some old favourites too, hoping this little switch up will rescue my complexion.
I've been using the Oskia Renassaince Cleanser for around a year now and it's become a staple in my routine. Its a seriously hyped up product in the beauty blog world and in my opinion rightly so. I love using this in the morning with my Foreo Luna Play gadget. The cleanser has a gel formula that melts into a sweet smelling oil as you massage it in. It contains pumpkin enzymes which really help cleanse those pores, Vitamin A which helps fight the appearance of sun damage (hence why its good for the summer), Vitamins B2 and C to promote firmness... I could go on and on. In short its packed full of goodness and leaves my skin squeeky clean and refreshed. I use the Foreo Play to intensify my cleanse and give my complexion some much needed radiance in the morning. The pair go so well together.
I've been using Garnier Micellar Water (Not pictured) after I come out of the shower. Purely to freshen and wake up my skin. I soak a cotton pad and literally just apply all over my face a neck then leave a for a few minutes to dry.I love this Micellar water the most I've tried a few more expensive ones and personally don'y see the point is spending a lot of money on this type of product. If my skin is bad and I need a bit more than just a freshen up I'll use the Pixi Glow Tonic. Which really helps to keep my skin clear.
The 1 Minute Facial
About 2/3 times a week depending on my complexion I use the REN 1 Minute Flash Facial after I get out of the shower. This is such an awesome product that really perks up even the dullest of complexions. Enriched in water activated Vitamin C, this gentle exfoliating mask removes dead skin cells, improving the radiance erasing signs of fatigue. My skin is instantly glowey and feels renewed and healthy. Definitely one for the weekends! Directions are simple: on a cleansed face lightly apply the product all over, then emulsify your fingers and massage into your skin. After 1 minute rinse well (I use cold water) and volia, Gorgeous skin. I always keep a tube of this in my bathroom it's an absolute life saver.
I love serums. Its probably my favourite of all the skincare products! To me, there's something luxurious about applying serum. It just feel indulgent - like I'm really treating my skin to some pampering. So the newest edition in my skincare regime is the Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Serum (bit if a mouth full). I adore the brand Caudalie and when I was looking for a new serum I headed straight to their website. This serum has patened Vine resveratrol for firmness and micro hyaluronic acids for volume. The formula is quite like a moisturiser with a silky finish. It blends in beautifully and sinks into the skin in a minute or so. I've found this serum to be extremely hydrating, and although I've not seen any physical signs of improving ageing (yet) I'm definitely feeling fresher and a little more toned. This one is a keeper and the pretty packaging score points too!
The second new product I'm loving is also from Caudalie. The Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet is just divine. Its SO hydrating and when I apply this in the morning my skin feels healthy, glowey and so moisturised. The 'bouncey' foam like texture of the cream is really light weight and absorbs into my skin in a flash, leaving a lovely base ready for make up. (not to mention it smells so pretty). The Vinosource moisturising sorbet helps to reduce redness, (perfect for my blemish prone skin) and would be suitable for even the most sensitive skins. I'm keepin a constant stock of this one!
I'm not normally one for supplements but when AOB PR contacted me and asked if I'd like to these Deluxe Collagen supplements by Regime* I was intrigued. I'm trying to avoid botox and if your a regular reader on The Beaux Diaries you may have noticed I'm a little obsessed with anti ageing and searching for eternal youth. Now I'm not saying these supplements are the answer, but after taking them morning and night for two weeks I have to admit I've seen a slight difference to my skin. It's hard to put my finger on what's different but my skin feels firmer and more plump. I have a few fine lines around my eyes and these seem to have reduced a little. The other change I've noticed is the dark sun spots on my cheeks seem to be a little lighter and smaller.
I'm always wary about trying new supplements, and I can honestly say I've had no side effects whatsoever. The Regime Delux Collegan supplements are completely natural with a combination of natural marine collagen, peptides and vitamin C. The directions advise to start off taking two tablets twice a day morning and night and you can build up to taking up to eight a day. After my first two weeks of taking them I upped my dosage to three in the morning and three in the night. The only downside is that they run out quicker!! So Its about time I pop along to Superdrug to stock up. If your thinking of adding some supplements to your beauty routine then these aren't a bad place to start.
What's happening in your skincare regime at the moment? Which products are you loving?
