Pixi is a brand I adore but I'm ashamed to say I haven't really tried much of their skincare - apart from the beloved Pixi Glow Tonic that I (and probably you) simply CANNOT live with out. However whilst out shopping I stumbled upon the Skintreats range and lets just say I wanted it all. Those cute little green bottles have a lot to answer for. I picked up a couple of products from the collection and feel I'm onto a winner with my new skincare duo.
First new treat I picked up is the Pixi Rose Blend Oil. It's a wonderfully indulgent facial oil with equally wonderful results. It's quite a heavy oil and feels luxurious when massaged into your skin. A beautiful cocktail of ingredients including sweet almond oil, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed and rose geranium oils leave skin feeling extremely hydrated and well nourished. The 'youth preserving' oils help to improve skins elasticity and glow. As it's quite a thick oil it's probably more suited to an bedtime treat rather than daily morning use. It takes a good ten minutes to sink into my skin (which is oily/combination) and leaves it feeling silky soft.
The Pixi Rose Blend Oil would suit dry, dehydrated skins and will also makes a great pick me up for tired or stressed faces. I'd probably only recommend using a couple of drops maybe just a once or twice a week if you have an oily skin. I've been using this a few times a week at bedtime and in the morning my skin feels refreshed, plump and really nourished. (Don't let the heavy formula put you off it really makes a wonderful deep conditioning treatment). The delicate scent is really beautiful and adds to the luxurious feel of this oil - I love anything rose scented lately. This is a versatile little oil - you can even add it to your moisturiser or face mask for an extra nourishing treat. At £26 its a lot more inexpensive than most facial oils on the market like say Oskia or Rodial but in my opinion delivers just as well.
The second product I'm really loving in the Skintreats range, is the Hydrating Milky Serum. It's such a lovely product to use in your morning routine after cleansing, as it really preps the skin for make up and helps protect against daily elements. It has a soft formula that glides onto your skin and sinks in beautifully, leaving you with hydrated, moisturised and refined skin. It almost feels like your skin is tightening slightly on application which is actually quite pleasant.
If you're familiar with Josie Maran products, then this is quite similar to the Pure Argan Milk Treatment. I brought the Josie Maran one in Australia last year and have just ran out so this is a welcome replacement. And if I'm honest it's much better. Much more hydrating. Well if it's good enough for Caroline Hirons.....
The Hydrating Milky Serum is perfect for dehydrated complexions and it's packed full of skin boosting nutrients. Ingredients include, jojoba oil, rose flower extract, aloe vera and vitamin C. Its a water based product than really feels like its doing some goodness when you apply it to your skin. Layering with your moisturiser isn't a problem - as the formula is really light weight probably just what you would expect from a 'milky serum'. I'm slightly obsessed.
The left hand picture shows the two swatched, however my camera hasn't picked up the oil too well. On the right is both the products blended. Look how dreamy my skin looks!!
The Pixi Hydrating serum is also priced at a purse friendly £26 and has the added bonus of being stocked in your local Marks and Spencer! Amazing! And I only popped in for pastries....
Have you tried this wonderful duo from Pixi? What's your fave product from the Skintreats range?
