When Hourglass launched there new range of strobing powders just in time for Spring I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. Hourglass always gets it right - the brand oozes luxury; from the ground breaking formulas, impeccable quality to the perfect packaging, the brand doesn't disappoint. I've slowly been adding a few additions to my collection and every product I've brought is fabulous especially the Strobing Powder.
There are four beautiful shades to choose from:
- Euphoric Strobe Light - A pearlescent beige powder bestowing a natural highlight
- Iridescent Strobe Light - An illuminating pink powder imparting a soft highlight
- Brilliant Strobe Light - A shimmering gold powder imparting a lustrous highlight
- Incandescent Strobe Light - An opalescent pearl powder bestowing a celestial highlight
I brought Iridescent Light, but it was a close call between this and Incandescent Light, they are quite similar but Iridescent just seemed to be that little bit more special. The sheer pinky shade would suit almost everyone and is perfect for perking up a dull lacklustre skin whilst enhancing your complexion. I'd recommend swatching and trying in store before purchasing as its hard to get a true likeness to colour and finish by just shopping online. (I'm absolutely going back for Euphoric Light in the summer as this would suit Olive skin tones and would be a gorgeous choice for summer sun kissed skin).
The powder itself is extremely lightweight, and is packed with ultra fine pearl particles which reflect the light beautifully on your skin. Resulting in a soft, delicate highlight that's not glittery or metallic. When swatched on my hand the powder appears almost sheer but on my cheeks (after foundation and bronzer) its a lot more prominent.
I also picked up a Strobe Lighting Sculpter. A cute little angle shaped sponge which helps apply the Strobing powder with perfect precision. It can be used dry or wet for a more intense highlight. Used wet the result is more dramatic and would be wonderful for evenings. The sculpter is really nice, but a good powder brush would work just as well. (Plus its £18. Ouch)
I have to admit when it comes to highlighting I've always been a fan of cream formulas mainly because I love the dewy finish but this Hourglass strobing powder gives a beautiful sheen and I'm in love with the finish. It doesn't emphasise flaws, pores or imperfections but enhances those instagram worthy cheekbones. If your a girl who loves to strobe or maybe your make up bag needs a little update then these strobing powders are the one.
Have you tried the Hourglass Strobing Powders? What's your thoughts?
