Since I started blogging my make up collection has doubled - actually make that quadrupled. I try and switch up my make up routine regularly, but generally I find myself reaching for the same products on a daily basis. I have a huge number of favourites and there are some brands that I simply can't live without.
I don't have a huge amount of time to get ready in the mornings so I've been trying to keep it simple - emphasis on trying! At the moment I'm using a lot of Bobbi Brown and Chanel and think I've found a winning routine.
Laura Mercier Radiance Primer. I heart LM primers. They are the one product that I CANNOT be with out and I'm constantly re-stocking. I always keep at least two in my make up stash and at the moment I'm using The Radiance primer. Its a little miracle in a tube that gives my complexion a much needed boost in the radiance department. It leaves my skin soft, dewy and perfectly prepped for foundation. I dedicated a whole post to these primers a while back which you can catch up on here.
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. I have to admit I'm a Nars Sheer Glow girl when it comes to foundation, but I've been cheating on Nars with this little number from Chanel. It gives a semi - matt, medium coverage that is easily buildable for those of you that prefer a more full coverage. The formula is slightly thicker and creamier than Nars but is a dream to apply. I've been using a foundation brush to apply then following on with my beauty blender to smooth over. The finish is lovely and it certainly does leaves a healthy glow. It doesn't cling to any dry patches or emphasise open pores. Staying power is amazing and I've found this lasts me a whole day without the need to top up or reapply. It's a little bit more on the pricey side, but it's Chanel and the quality is second to none. Would def recommend this one.
To add a bit of a bronze glow and finish off my base - I'm loving Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder. This adds just the right amount of bronze and radiance and helps to set my foundation. I also love wearing this on its own for a more natural sheer finish. Plus the packaging is beaut.
Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer. Another little pot of magic. This product is a total mutli tasker, I've been using it to conceal shadows under my eyes and it works a treat. Its quite heavy so a tiny bit goes a long way. I use shade SX2 which to be honest is a bit to light for me, but for under the eyes its fine. I apply with my Zoeva concealer brush and blend with the beauty blender. Then finish by with Laura Mercier setting powder. These two work wonders for making me look awake in the mornings!
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eye Shadows are my current obsession. I use 'Suede' all over which is a lovely matt, neutral shade. And most days I've been pairing this with 'Beach Bronze' which is a beautiful, golden brown shade with a hint plum and touch of metalilc shimmer. The two work really well together and I love how easy they are to apply. I just use my ring finger and blend. So Simple. They look gorgeous on and last forever.
Next I've been using Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink. I'm certainly no expert when it comes to eye liner but since I've been using this with my Zoeva liner brush I've become much better at applying it! The gel formula is super easy to apply and doesn't budge all day. I've tried numerous different eye liners and this one is the best by far. Following on from the gel liner I give my lashes a quick curl with my Shu Uemura curlers (if I have time) and then use a couple of coats of Chanel Le Volume Mascara in shade 10 Noir. I love this mascara. It gives a great curl, adds thickness and lengthens my lashes. I find one or two layers to be enough, if I get carried away then it tends to get a little clumpy on the ends.
I have to admit I'm a total cream blush girl. I just love the healthy youthful glow they give my skin. But having said that lately I've been reaching for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blusher in Diffused Heat. Its quite pigmented and gives a real flushed glow to my cheeks. (A little goes along way (Aunt Sally is not really the ideal muse) There's a slight golden shimmer to the finish which is really delicate and pretty. I definitely look more alive when I'm wearing this blusher.
Lately I'm loving the nude lip again. I don't always wear lipstick sometimes just a slick of Vaseline is enough. But if I do then I always reaching for Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip in Almost Bare (I share my love for this here) or my Charlotte Tilbury fave: Nude Kate. It's the perfect barely there nude. My lips but better - you know when a lipstick just works for you and this is a winner. Especially as most nude lipsticks make me resemble a corpse.
Anyways... I'm ready in about 15 mins I try and keep it short and sweet but I do need a bit of help these days.
What products do you reach for everyday? Do you use the same products or do you mix it up? I'd love to hear your everyday reccomendations
