I love being nosey at what's in other peoples make up bags, and always enjoy reading posts like these from my fellow fave bloggers. So I thought I's share a little Autumn update of what's currently in my make up bag this season.....
I've been having a love/hate relationship with Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. Back in February when I first purchased it I loved it, then through the summer hated it, now in Autumn I love it again! (you can read my first impressions here). It gives a semi - matt finish and adds radiance to my tired skin, its not too heavy and is easily buildable. Its a lovely finish for this time of year when you want coverage and a healthy glow.
I usually use this with Laura Mercier primer but lately I've been using This Works Perfect Skin Miracle, which is a gorgeous tinted moisturiser, that really brings life to tired complexion. Next, I use lots of Nars Laguna bronzer, (not pictured as I've hit pan) I say lots as I have zero tan left from the summer (cries) and it's easy to build up - no umpa lumpas in sight!
I'm quite lucky at the moment that my skin is clear, so I'm only really using concealer under my eyes to cover those pesky shadows and make me look awake! I'm currently loving Laura Mercier Candle Glow Concealer and Highlighter. Which is a wonderful light reflecting product that gives a fresh illuminating finish. The round sponge applicator makes application a dream, and is a new concept to me, as all my other highlighting concealer pens have brush applicators. It fits under the eye perfectly and is also great for a little light contouring.
I was a bit naughty and brought myself a Marc Jacobs Beauty The Dreamer Eye Palette in 07. Its such a beautiful selection of neutral, powdery shadows with a warm toned hues, which I think is just perfect for this time of year. It has seven (very wearable) pretty shades which include: three matts and four metallics. The shades range from creamy yellow, pretty peach, deep espresso brown and golden copper tones. All super easy to blend and the quality is impeccable. The packaging is super luxe and homes a large mirror which is really handy for on the go touch ups. I been blending the life out of this palette and finishing off with lashings of Chanel de Volume Mascara.
Another little edition from Marc Jacobs, I'm loving the Air Blush in 'Flesh and Fantasy. A warm peach toned blush, with a light and deep shade that fuse beautifully together. Creating a gorgeous flush to the cheeks with an 'oh so subtle highlight'. The light shade is an ivory shimmer and the deeper is a gorgeous browny peach. The Air Blush is lightly pigmented and only takes a few sweeps across your cheeks to create a warm peachy healthy glow. The velvety texture is wonderfully soft on the skin and lasts for hours. I'm smitten.
Autumn wouldn't be complete without a berry lip, and my current fave is Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 08 Plum Shimmer. As much as I love lipstick, if I could only wear one product on my lips forever I would choose the Clarins Instant Light Perfectors. I love the formula which makes my lips so smooth, plump and nourished. I have a few colours and always reach for these when I need a little pick me up. 08 is a gorgeous sheer berry/plum shade, which gives just the right amount of pigmentation to leave a pretty stain as the gloss wears off.
What's in your make up bag this Autumn? Do you update your make up for the new seasons?
