Everyone loves Kevyn Aucoin right? The Celestial powders and highlighters have been much hyped up in the beauty world, and rightly so. If you haven't heard, seen or read about them (where have you been) then here's a quick over view of two of my Kevyn Aucoin faves.
The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting
This is based on the famous celestial powder and this beautiful liquid is heaven on earth. It can be used as a primer for your foundation or just as a highlighter. The weightless formula is a dream to apply and doesn't emphasise flaws or open pores. Its a warm golden sheen that will suit all skin types and tones. When worn with as a primer, I literally apply all over my face using my fingers and blend with a sponge. Leave for a minute or two and the apply my foundation (Nars Sheer Glow with a foundation brush). The combination works well and I'd say my base lasted around 8/9 hours. It claims to last 12 - and probably would but I tend to touch my face a lot. The result is a lovely radiant, glow that makes your skin look healthy - REALLY healthy.
When worn as just a highlighter, after my make up application I pat the Celestial Skin Lighting fluid along my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, a little on my forehead and cupids bow. I LOVE this look as a highlighter as it leaves a gorgeous dewy glow (kind of lit from within) and really finishes off your make up.It catches the light perfectly and is so flattering without the obvious - I've smothered my face in highlighter look. It really is absolutely beautiful and will definitely have you oohing and ahhing as you apply it. It comes in a large tube and will last you for ages - so well worth the £42 price tag in my opinion.
The Candlelight Celestial Powder
This famous highlighter is simply gorgeous. The warm apricot powder gives a subtle sheen and beautiful shimmery highlight to the skin. The smooth texture is light and very sheer, so feels really delicate. I apply after my make up using the Zoeva highlighting brush. I love to apply this to my temples and cheekbones to give a gorgeous glow. The colour is very universal and will suit almost all skin tones as does the Celestial Skin Lighting Liquid. If your a powder girl than this ones for you. The compact comes with a little mirror and velvet pouch but it is quite small for the £35 price tag. So quite expensive compared to say Mac or Anastasia Beverly Hills - where the compacts are a lot larger. But never the less it makes a welcome addition to any make up collection. As they say - size doesn't matter!!
In short these two are super wonderful and I'd highly recommend both versions. Kevyn Aucoin can do no wrong!
Have you tried the Celestial HIghlighters which ones your favourite?
