I'm definitely an Autumn girl. I love the crisper weather, wrapping up in a oversized scarf, wearing fur (faux) and leather, but most of all I love Autumnal make up. And one of my favourite make up looks for Autumn is a 'berry lip'. Its one of the easiest on trend looks to create -paired with either a champagne or bronze eye for day or teamed with a smokey and a ton of highlight eye in the evening.
There's so many beautiful berry shades on the market at the moment, from plums, blackberry and oxblood there's something for everyone. From rich colours to matt textures or glossy high shine whatever your preference. My collection is growing fast, if your looking for a new Autumn lipstick or fancy treating yourself this weekend then here are my 5 favourite Autumn lipsticks that I would highly reccomend.
Charlotte Tilbury Matt Revolution Lipstick in 'Walk of shame'
You can't beat a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and the new matt revolution range is gorgeous. They are long lasting but hydrating so unlike some matt textures the moisture is not sucked from your lips. 'Walk Of Shame' is a gorgeous berry shade with a hint of pink. That leaves a lovely stained colour that lasts for hours. Autumn Chic at its best.
Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Cream Lipstick in 'Icon'
Everyone loves the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and Blushes but Hourglass also have a pretty amazing range of Lipsticks too. I love Icon a rich, oxblood shade that's perfect for a night out. The formula glides on like silk, lasts really well and includes super Antioxidant Vitamin E to moisturise and treat your lips. The weighty Hourglass casing is classic and the etched design in the lipstick makes it almost to special to use. Almost.
Mac Viva Glam 1
A lipstick edit isn't complete without a Mac edition and Viva Glam 1 is my current favourite lipstick from Mac. I've had this a while but it always makes a reappearence in the Autumn. Admittly this is this formula is the most drying compared to the others but it lasts amazingly well. Viva Glam 1 is more of a deep red with hint of berry. I love that you can build the matt formula to create a more intense colour. And the best bit: for each sale of MAC Viva Glam Lipstick the full RRP (less VAT) goes towards helping women, men and kids everywhere affected by HIV and Aids.
Clinique Different Lipstick in Different Grape.
This amazing lipstick lasts me a whole night out, on previous night out with friends; it withstood, cocktails, a 2 course dinner and after dinner drinks. Its not too drying and I love the plum - grape shade that looks great with a smokey eye. Sadly this colour has been discontinued, but when swatched in store' Clinque Berry Pop was the closest colour match. Clinque Different Lipstick range also has lots a fab shades to choose from.
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate in '107'
The Rimmel By Kate Lipsticks are such a fabulous budget buy at only £5.49!! No 107 is the a gorgeous berry shade and perfect for those wanting to try out a berry lip without splashing out on an expensive lippy. The formula is soft and velvety and has a semi matt finish. Its non drying and even thou it's not as long lasting as the others as it wears your left with a gorgeous berry bitten stain that's really subtle.
Swatched from left to right; Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate in 107, Charlotte Tilbury 'Walk of Shame', Hourglass Femme Rouge in 'Icon' Mac 'Viva Glam 1' and Clinique Different lipstick in 'Different Grape'.
