Whether you need to fake some beauty sleep or cover some pesky blemishes these two winning concealers may be just what you need.
Clarins Instant Concealer is a new discovery for me and fast becoming my answer to faking a full 8 hours of beauty sleep. I rarely catch more than 6 hours lately and the lack of sleep is taking its toll on my eyes. This lovely little concealer not only covers my dark shadows but also has a slight cooling effect which is quite refreshing.
Its has a medium coverage which is easily buildable. Clarins Instant Concealer is illuminating and I find one layer completely covers my shadows and brightens my eyes without feeling cakey or heavy. It doesn't crease or seep into any fine lines. And the best news is it has incredible staying power and I only found I need a light touch up once during the day.
To apply I prefer to use my fingers rather than a brush. Its a dream to blend, its quite fluid, so you only need to squeeze a tiny amount. I blend using my ring finger in an upside down triangle shape under my eye, this not only conceals dark circles but creates the illusion that your face is lifted. Another good tip is to apply concealer after your foundation and you wont need quite as much.
Clarins Instant Concealer is only available in 3 shades which is a real shame as they wont be suitable for darker skin tones.
And Secondly is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer . This is wonderful for spots, blemishes, age spots and general flaws. The creamy formula is highly pigmented which results in a great coverage. Again its easily buildable but you really don't need to apply a a lot. Its silky smooth formula is easy to apply using either the doe shaped wand or blended with a brush ( I use Zoevea Concealer brush from zoeva brushes ).
The best bit is that it includes active skincare ingredients to help heal your imperfections whilst hiding them. Genius!
It lasts really well during the day and only a couple of touch ups are needed. The Nars Radiant Concealer has a fantastic colour range so there's something to suit pretty much all skin tones. When swatching concealer - try applying to the inside of your wrist over your veins - this will give you an idea of what the coverage is like.
I'm really impressed with this concealer - its also great under your eyes - I feel the two work well together as a great multi purpose concealer combo.
The above swatches - Nars on the left and Clarins on the right. Ignore the colour tone to my skin - my body is a lot more tanned than my face at the moment - its really to give you an idea of texture. As you can see the Nars concealer is a little thicker and creamier and the Clarins Instant Concealer is illuminating a a little sheerer.
Which concealer do you use? Any recommendations
Have a great day
