I'm always looking for the perfect something.... perfect base, perfect smokey eye, perfect nude lip and ultimately the perfect red lip. The new Chanel Coco Rouge collection homes just that. I'm currently loving 'Dimitri' (no 442) a gorgeous vibrant red.
The Coco Rouge collection has a sheer formula that glides on smoothly and is really nourishing on your lips. It's not too pigmented, (I'd say a medium coverage) so you can build up with a couple of layers to increase intensity. Dimitri is not glossy or shimmery but leaves a luminous glow on your lips.
I love a lip liner so I choose Le Crayon Levres, Precision Lip Definer in 'Rouge Profound' (no 57) the complementing shade to go with Dimitri, I feel Redd by Mac would also work well. The lip liner is a large pencil with a lip brush at the other end, you also get a cute Chanel pencil sharperner.
To Help keep your lipstick in pace I find lining my lips then; filling the whole lip in with the liner really helps staying power and intensify the colour. As The Coco rouge lipsticks are so moisturising this tip wont dry out your lips.
The CHANEL ROUGE COCO Collection is enriched with jojoba, mimosa and sunflower butter extracts for a hydrating and slight plumping effect.
The collection was relaunched in March this year with a new improved formula. There is an incredible 26 gorgeous colours to choose from. There are five main colour categories with names that inspired Coco Chanel:
- Lovers - passion reflected by dramatic reds
- Family - a tribute in understated nude shades
- Best Friends - celebrated by romantic pinks
- Muses - an homage in bright corals
- Artists - hounored by deep plum shades
I could have picked about another 10 from the collection to buy including a nude pink named Adrienne. At £26 each I might have to wait a little while before another splurge.
Have you tried any colours from the Coco Chanel collection which ones your favourite?
