If your a Nars fan you've probably seen the latest addition to their gorgeous blushes. The Nars Duel Intensity Blush.
A lovely concept of 2 complimenting colours that can be applied wet or dry. The formula is similar to an Nars eye shadow rather than like the usual texture of a Nars blusher.
The Nars Duel Intensity Blush comes in 6 colour combinations. I chose 'Jubilation' a pretty gold and peach shade. Other combinations( shown below) include Adoration, Craving, Jubliation, Frenzy, Fervor and Panic.
I have to admit I'm not totally convinced on these blushes.
Worn dry and applied with a blusher brush you get a delicate wash of colour with a shimmer effect which is really flattering on the cheek bones. The dry look is quite translucent and takes a few layers to build up a colour. The finish is soft and velvety. Lovely. Happy with that.
Applied wet, the colour is amplified and much more intense, which is great if you want a more dramatic look and I love how the colours are so much bolder. The gold in particular is very metallic. Personally, I found the the wet look really beautiful. But the major downside is that once it had dried on my skin it really highlighted how big my pores are and just didn't look as good as if hoped. Not as flattering (on me anyway). A tad disappointing. To apply wet I used a damp beauty blender and blended along my cheekbones starting with the gold and layering with the peach. You can also use your fingers or a damp make up brush. I found both the colours easy to mix being wet, but definitely preferred the dry look better.
Not sure if the pictures really do it justice but swatched on the left is a dry application and on the right a wet application. As a wet application both the colours have intensified and I've found the Jubilation combination also works really well as a highlighter. Great for that killer eyebrow arch and cupids bow.
NARS dual intensity blush is £30 , slightly more than the Nars blushers at £23, so if your looking to treat yourself I'd recommend just the powder blush. Unlawful and Orgasm are my faves. (You can read my review on Nars unlawful here).
Overall I really like the Nars Duel Intensity blush but I'm not sure it will be a regular in my make up routine. I''ll probably end up using it more as a highlighter.
Have you tried any of the Nars Duel Intensity blushes? I'd love to hear you're thoughts.
Have a great day
