So this is where Essie grow Stronger Base Coat comes in. I love Essie polishes so thought I'd give this a try. Its packed full of fortifying ingredients including: Gingko Biloba and Vitamin E to hydrate and nourish, and also Minerals and nail hardeners to strengthen weak nails.
If worn alone Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat is a lovely nude pinky colour which leaves a subtle sheen on my nails, making them look healthy. It glides on evenly, smoothing out the nail. Providing a perfect base ready for your first coat, should you wish to continue with a colour.
I've left my nails with just one coat of Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat to give them a little breather from constant Shellac and Gel abuse I was subjecting them too. At the moment I'm liking the natural look and it feels nice to give them a little break.
After 2 weeks my nails feel stronger and not one has broken or spilt which is a definite improvement for me. I haven't noticed a huge difference in length but they're a little longer and I'm starting to see an improvement in the condition of my nails.
At £8.99 I think this a bargain compared to some high end nail treatments that can cost around £20.
Overall this Essie nail treatment gets my vote and if you need a little help in the nail department then this is a good place to start.
Another wonderful product by Essie is the Essie Apricot Care Cuticle Oil. I've been using this alongside the Grow Stronger base coat to improve the condition of my cuticles. You can apply before a manicure to help soften the cuticles before pushing them back or just daily to moisturise them.
The Apricot Care Cuticle Oil contains a mix of oils including cottonseed and sweet almond oils. It smells wonderfully fruity. You only need a tiny amount and really makes the skin around my nails soft and silky and its not too greasy. If applied on bare nails it makes them look lovely and glossy. For £8.99 you get a 13.5ml pot which should last quite a while. A lovely little treatment for your nails - I totally recommend!
Do you use any nail treatments to improve the condition of your nails? What do you recommend?
